Betta Fish have a natural propensity to fight, but they can be trained to live in harmony with other betta fish and even other small aquarium animals such as dwarf frogs or shrimp.

Bettas need at least a gallon of water per fish, although 2 gallons is recommended for optimum health. The ideal water temperature is between 78 and 82 degrees Fahrenheit, and the pH should be between 6.5 to 7.5 (a pH below 7 is too acidic). To keep your betta healthy, you’ll want to do a 10% water change every week. 

Bettas are also carnivores that eat insects, so you’ll want to feed them dry foods made specifically for them as well as live foods such as mosquito larvae and brine shrimp.
